Art Dump: Selected 2022 Doodles

Hello 12K comm, I come bearing gifts, long time lurker, first time poster, and thought I’d share some of my 12K fanart here!

Referenced from a traditional costume model, if anyone knows of a solid place to search for reference photos of Chinese attire listed by like, dynasty or time period that would be lovely, I feel like I’m always at such a loss when it comes to replicating and creating the gorgeous flowing robes and even the simpler outfits Yamada renders in the book’s illustrations! 

this silly thing came about when considering the idea of Yoko loosening up a little bit as she becomes more familiar with and develops her own skills to defend herself and fight without relying on Keiki’s familiars, including maybe being a little bit flippant with poor worried Rakushuun.

Here comes the booooy! Taiki is without a doubt my favorite protagonist in the series and is my go to for little fan doodles. This was an experiment with new brushes in CSP and dicking around with different ways of drawing hair! 

So did anyone else lose their shit when the new books dropped? I sure did. I’m still not used to Taiki’s new look but these doodles were produced almost in immediate reaction to the book announcement haha! Gyouso is so goddamn hard to draw ugh. 

Another little experimental doodle! I really like this one actually and am pretty happy with how it came out! It’s very simplified and drawn mostly from memory. (please excuse any inaccuracies!)
